See you some other time, Prague.

May 4, 2017

We got the June thing sorted out. I found a way to switch our tickets to Copenhagen for a visit in August and even with the steep change fee and the difference in fare it ended up working out OK because I found a very good deal on the Denmark flights. It was a fare I’d found even cheaper the day before but I was waiting to check on dates with Mr. Extremely Complicated Schedule Captain, and in the five hours I waited we lost the low prices on our first choice travel dates and finally went with this August trip. I’ve been searching for something for weeks and this time I just scooped it up instead of waiting (lesson learned.)

It was definitely easier to do all this when I was a solo crazy tourist! I love having a travel companion so I will stop the complaining right here. We aren’t going to be spending my b-day together but I have something up my sleeve and I think it will be fun and as long as I am off having a big time he won’t feel so guilty about not being able to be with me. Couple stuff is complicated, man. All the feelings! All the complexities! But now instead of everything being really up in the air, I have a plan. A plan makes me happy.

And as for Prague, we will see you some other time. Our 2017 travels have kind of morphed into checking out the great cities of the world to see if we may want to move to one of them. Prague is still on the list, but it looks like Scandinavia has a hold on us for the next few months. Hej hej!

Today: I’ve been using my essential oils diffuser at work and even though I have owned it for a year no one ever noticed it in my old office. But now people keep commenting on it. We had our all-hands meeting. The presentation was a hit, and got some weird project news.

"Where are we going and why are we in this handbasket?"

Right now I am …

Starting to take some of the improvements from the guest room and add them to my bedroom, like this cool power outlet for the bedside table. I’m hoping it helps with the constant problem of needing to charge all devices simultaneously.

Still obsessing over Sew Over It and Lisa Comfort, the lady boss behind it all. Here is her site, YouTube vlog, and Insta. I bought pretty much every pattern they have during the recent 30% off sale.

Currently reading The 4-Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferriss. I need this book to help me but I don’t have enough time to read this book because I’m working nonstop, so…

Interested in these silica gel packets for my yarn stash. Does anyone out there add these to ziplock baggies of yarn?

Find and follow your passion is a load of crap.

Expecting to find something where everything clicks from the get go and is all good from there on out is a surefire way to never be happy.

Pursue your interests. Stay curious. Hone a craft. Passion emerges over years, not seconds.
